Set a new classic alongside the old one. Plenty of deck width to work with. Trail is still in great shape with a few thin spots starting to creep in a few spots. Enjoy it while you can!

We got some more fresh snow and trail is in great shape! Set a new classic and skate deck. Sun feels great! Great for the short term warmth but long term with many days of sun predicted ahead these great trails won't last long. Get out and enjoy them before they disappear!

The cross country ski trail at Phalen golf course was groomed this morning. There was 5-6" of fresh snow that was groomed. There are a few icy spots but overall the trail is in great shape. A new classic track was set. Stay warm and enjoy!

The track wasn't ideal, but still a great time. There were parts covered by wind blown snow but I skied thru it with no problem. The NW corner was icy as were two other hills, but the rest of the course was good as long as you stayed in the tracks. The west side had a lot of small pinecones, but easy to skate over.

Skate conditions are very good right now at Phalen. The trail had a lot of wind blown snow in the corduroy but still skied fast. The tracks looked outstanding other than some wind blown snow in the north / south sections.

[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Skied a loop and a half over lunch. Hasn't been groomed since the recent snowfall, but conditions were surprisingly good! Soft fluff over hard-pack. Couple of icy spots in the shade. Recommend B skis since all the bare spots got covered up with new snow. Someone laid down some great classic tracks as well! An absolutely gorgeous day!

Skied the tracks which are well set and only a couple of semi bare spots under trees. Tracks themselves have enough snow so it's not icy but the edges and untouched surfaces have a definite ice crust with a skiff of snow. Glide and downhill was somewhat sluggish.

Fast and icy. Grooming barely scratched the surface, providing little edge bite. Luckily, fairly flat golf-course loop. It works, but be careful.
