Ski trails at Afterhours are in perfect conditions for both skate and classic. Firm and fast skiing this evening. Couldn’t be better.

We skied the race today at After Hours and it was our first time there this year. Wow, the grooming was absolutely fantastic and the classic tracks held up incredibly well considering a race had taken place on them! The skate deck was in excellent shape too! The only part that will need attention is the "more difficult" cut off on the way in which you can skip by taking the easy route; lots of snow plowing led to some icy spots. If you have yet to visit After Hours, I highly recommend it!

Excellent conditons! Skied the race today and found great tracks and skating deck. Soft and nonabrasive. Lots of snow.

Recently groomed and excellent conditions. Only a few icy areas on the fringe of the trail in low spots. Skate deck appeared to be a little soft but looked wonderful. Sally’s Classic Trail is a gem.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The skate lanes on all trails were freshly groomed this morning. Some small debris on trails (needles, twigs) in concentrated areas. Warm days and below-freezing nights have made skiing fast and a bit icy in the morning, turning softer in the afternoons, but still very good conditions overall! All trails are tracked, but no fresh classic tracks were set for the weekend.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Everything was open, well covered and well groomed. There was a fair bit of debris down, hence the B ski recommendation. This is mostly just an issue with the classic tracks, though. The warm temperatures (over 40) didn't do the trails any favors. It was slow going, and the snow seemed to vacuum your skis to the ground at times.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The main trails have were groomed and tracked on Tuesday and are in great shape for both skating and classic. We have groomed and tracked Sally's Classic trail this morning. The track set up smooth and to full depth. The edges of the trail are not completely set up yet and you may find your poles sink a bit. Some low lying areas of the trail were insulated from the first heavy snow event of the season and had visible water showing after rolling the trail. We managed to fill in these areas with surrounding snow and are not visible to the skier after a final groom, but one might still find their poles or skis sinking in a few of these areas. Mild weather may slow how fast these wet/soft areas set up. This holiday should offer some excellent skiing conditions hear in Brule. Thanks for coming out!

Firsthand: Freestyle Secondhand
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Ski trails at Afterhours are all in very good to excellent condition. Skate deck is in great shape and classic tracks were firm and deep. DNR groomers had been waiting for a machine part to be able to set track on the Sally's "classic-only" trail. That part arrived yesterday, so I'd anticipate track set soon, for all areas. Please come out and ski!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We had a few inches of fresh snow covering our trails from the weekend. We have groomed the entire trail system and will be setting track this afternoon. The trail is still soft in areas as we are still working our snow base. Overall the trails are fairly smooth and will improve as temperatures drop. Conditions are good to very good and there is about 8-10 inches of base.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The entire trail system has been rolled and we have begun to level the base in preparation for grooming on Thursday and track setting on Friday. We will not be able to set track on classic trail for this weekend. We have added roughly 2 miles of new trail to the system this year. We plan to groom it for skating and as time allows setting some track. There are trail maps at most new intersections and the new trail signage will be out soon.
