2019-2020 season
Reports 11 to 20 of 57    Month: Mar | Feb | Jan | Dec
Wednesday, February 12, 2020
Morning
Firsthand: Both
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
No fresh grooming today but still very good to excellent conditions. The skating deck is getting a bit skied-in but still retaining edge control in most areas. Not icy. The classic tracks were last set on Monday and are still very good, though getting washed out in some of the busier sections. Still mostly clear of leaves.

The groomer is out this morning setting fresh corduroy. Skating is moderate speed with total edge control. No new classic tracks had been set as of 8:30, but the existing tracks are firm and clean, though a bit shallow once in a while.

No grooming today. The 5" of new powdery snow was skateable and some classic skiers had left tracks.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
The groomer was out today. The skating deck is a scratched-up 1/2" of sugary cord over the very hard base. It's fast. Nearly all the classic tracks were obliterated by the groomer. Just a few hundred meters of hard, icy tracks here and there are left.

Night
Firsthand: Both
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The skating deck is very hard-packed and well skied-in. The hills are bordering on icy. The classic tracks are also very hard and icy, but for the most part you can glide over the scattering of leaves, which are frozen in.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The knives are out. The groomer was out this morning knifing off the top of the hard skating deck. Where he had made multiple passes there was a manageable 1/2" of new cord over the very hard base. As of 10:00 he had made at least one pass on all the green and blue trails. Where he had made just one pass the deck was lightly scruffed up. No new classic tracks had been set. The existing tracks are hard and icy and still mostly free of leaves and forest litter.

Morning
Firsthand: Both
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
No new grooming today. The skating deck is fast and well skied-in, but softening by noon. In sunny areas the snow got a bit sticky. Edges of the skating deck had vestiges of corduroy. The classic tracks remain clean, fast and lightly glazed.

[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Fresh corduroy this morning on all the blue and green trails and some of the blacks. Very good conditions but softening a bit as the temp hit 32. No new classic tracks but they didn't need to be as the classic skiing remains excellent.

Morning
Firsthand: Both
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Fresh grooming this morning. As of 9:30 all the green and blue trails have fresh corduroy. Most of the blacks (Big Falls, Ruby's, Dipsy Deux) weren't re-groomed yet but still were in excellent condition. It looked like he was going to get to the blacks. Some new tracks were set this morning and both those and the ones "leftover" from yesterday are deep, clean, and fast and excellent for classic skiing or double-poling with your skating skis.
