Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
It is beautiful out there with all the snow on the trees. All trails are groomed and tracked. They should set up really nice overnight. I’m guessing that the tracks may be a little icy in spots so watch for that. And, for the beautiful snow on the trees, that also leads to some low hanging branches. Watch for them when you are in the tracks. Have a nice ski.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All trails were groomed and tracked. Coverage is good with a few, widely scattered frozen slushy spots. With the overnight cold things should firm up a bit.

Evening
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Good skis ]
Volunteer groomer was out doing third round on orange prairie trails which were slow skating with first groom but probably faster by tomorrow morning. Classic tracks looked great with a little showing of old ice in some spots but no biggie. Gorgeous canopy of winter wonderland. Great way to end a year and bring in 2020.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Plenty of new snow cover but not groomed yet. Was able to skate around a bit, lifting skis high so as not to hook a tip. Hopefully the groomers can get out today/tonight. Woods are beautiful.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ B skis ]
Skied 11am to 1pm. Classic tracks made by other skiers. Plenty of snow cover but spotty small sections where moisture is seeping into tracks. But easy to ski over them. I broke trail on part of orange and yellow, the rest was enjoyable. Skate deck was not packed, so several inches to push through. Overall, wonderful skiing.

Grooming Secondhand Scheduling
[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
A downed tree has to come off the Blue trail first, then grooming will start. Dave left for the tree job with help shortly after noon. There is a second shift of grooming later today (these people are all volunteers). Skier reports at the office this morning indicated good skiing on the ungroomed trails.

4” fresh snow, not yet groomed. Difficult going for skate skiers. Plenty of classic skiers have left tracks so they have it easier going.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ B skis ]
Trails were incredible on earlier in the week but have degraded since. Was out on the orange loop on Christmas afternoon and it was a mix of debris, slush and rough trails. As a classic skier I'd kindly ask skaters to watch the pole marks on the classic tracks. A big thanks to the volunteer grooming crew! What a great start to the year.

Pleasantly surprised with late morning conditions at 36 degrees. Still very good coverage despite the warm temps. Plenty of leaf and twig debris in the woods, but easy to dance around it in the skate deck, and the classic trails looked to be holding up as well. Thanks grooming crew for the good work out there!!

Night
Observation
[ Trails Open: All ]
There is a timber operation going on in the pine plantation near the park office. You might want to avoid the Orange trail for about 200 meters where it passes through the pines due to sticks and other wood debris in the trail. The trail is certainly skiable, but you will find better conditions in other parts of the park. Firearms deer season has closed. Ski trails are now open to skiers only.
