Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We got a little snow finally which enabled us to freshen up all skate trails. We are still grooming the Turtle River Pursuit trail for skate and classic use. The race course makes a great skate opportunity. The classic tracks are firm and with the little snow we got you should get good grip. Enjoy the Spring temps and conditions.

Skate lanes freshly renovated and combed producing a level ski surface. Mid morning ski was fast, snow was still cold. Classical tracks had a faint dusting of snow. Overall conditions very good.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The Mercer area received approximately 2-3 inches of new, dry snow yesterday. Today groomers mixed the new snow with the cold base. New classical tracks were cut and the skate lanes were renovated and combed. Because of the cold temps, tracks set up hard the skate surface very firm and level. Conditions are rated very good to excellent.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Good skis ]
I skate skied the entire trail system. The skate deck was firm but a bit crusty from last Sunday’s thaw. The downhills were fast but control was still good. Homestead had been groomed but the groomer was not able to set a track the entire length. Therefore, I ended up skating that too. I would rate overall conditions as good. It would appear last Sunday’s thaw has made grooming a challenge.

Morning
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The trail was groomed this morning for the weekend rush.  Multiple passes were made and they are in very good condition.  Track was reset and should be fast.  Those out training for the Turtle River Pursuit, the K markers have been put out on the course to give you an idea of distance.  Grooming for next weekends race will continue through the week after Sunday.

Afternoon
Observation
[ Trails Open: All ]
Due to the deterioration from the warm weekend, we decided to snowshoe instead of ski. The classic tracks were very hard and icy, and snowplowing was not feasible due to the icy crust on the skating deck. Depending of which species of tree was overhead, there was significant needle or cone debris on the trail. New snow is needed to mix in with the icy crust. There is still plenty of snow for next regrooming.

Trails were all groomed Saturday morning and are in great condition for the weekend.  Try to get out early before the temps get too high.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Trails were all groomed this morning and are in excellent condition. The area of the Osprey loop in the meadow by the Little Turtle Flowage is a little rough as we attack the drifting that has happened there. Please bare with us as we re-level this area.
