Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
We ended up with 4+" of snow yesterday and the park is looking absolutely fabulous! The crew took three machines out and groomed up the entire park with fresh skate decks and classic tracks. The Pisten Bully groomed up most of the interior trails and River Run. Expect soft skate decks with all the fresh snow. But the trails are beautiful and it's going to be a great day to hit the trails.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Classic ski at Winter Park today since the new snow was going to be soft. Fresh grooming and snowing throughout. Was worth the drive up. The only downside was with the two skate skiers who passed me on the start of Wolf Tracks and the proceeded to regularly glide over the classic tracks for most of this long loop.

Kudos to the grooming crew who create great tracks with little snow. I skied the eastern portion of the park including a section of the River Trail. Tracks were pretty good and the snow, where it is was "clean", was fast. However, the howling winds brought down many branches, leaves and detritus. There is nothing this stellar crew and staff here could do about that. The skate deck looked great if a little soft. Given the classically bad (pun intended) conditions we have had in southern Wisconsin, it is still worth a trip up to this great facility.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Crews were out working on the trails early this morning and we are excited to report that the Pisten Bully was brought out for the first time this year! Skate decks are firm and fast and classic tracks are being re-set on Base Loop, Tornado Alley, Survivor, Nose Dive, Tower Road, and the Cookie Loop. The park's interior trails continue to have great conditions! Groomers have finished two long trails: River Run and Wolf Tracks. However, River Run is very thin in spots. Wolf Tracks is in better condition, although it too has thin spots on the east side of the loop. If skiing Wolf Tracks, we recommend skiing to the cabin and back for the best conditions.

Classic skied, mostly good tracks set but a few sections that didn't groom in tracks. Skate skied on Monday and conditions were good except the Lake Maria loops had some thin spots here and there; Base Loop and Tornado Alley and Nosedive were all very good. Great to ski on natural snow in this wonderful ski area!

Night
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Groomers got out at night and touched up skate decks on all of the interior trails. Conditions are great out there with only a few thin spots on VO2 Max and places with heavy pine canopy. But these areas are easy to avoid. The best conditions can be found out on Tornado Alley/Survivor.

Very good conditions with an inch of new snow on Saturday night. Most of the tracks looked very good. Yukon was almost perfect with the exception of one spot. The skate deck was fast with really good control. Beaver pond was in excellent condition. The other expert trails were not regroomed.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Trails are grooming up nicely after 1" of snow fell last night! Groomers have been out setting new skate decks and classic tracks on the Cookie Loop area, the Tornado/Survivor area and got one long trail in: Lake Marie! The trails are in fantastic shape with this fresh snow covering any wind blown debris and most thin spots. Full depth classic tracks are back in most places, especially on the west side of the park.

[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
All the main trails that will be used for the race were in excellent condition. Nutcracker, VO2max, Yukon, squirrels tail all had some bare spots on the top of hills. Most of these trails are pretty good. I attached a picture of Survivor. Most of the tracks were deep and firm.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
The groomers put in a big night setting new skate decks on basically the entire park! New classic tracks were set in most places as well. Trails held up pretty well to the warm temps yesterday with some thin spots showing up on Big Pine, VO2 Max, River Run, and Wolf Tracks. But otherwise, trails are in great shape! Grooming plans: Expect grooming equipment to be on the trails during the day today. They're working on setting more classic tracks and completing some race prep work.
