Notes

Afterglow Ski Trails are groomed for skate and classic 5-7 times a week with a Tidd Tech G2. The full width groomed trails are protected by a thick mixed hardwood forest with trees right to the trails edge. A large heated warm up room is perfect to wait for the diehards in your group. Things are in really good shape at Afterglow following the warm spell. Skied the majority of the open trails, all fully covered and except for being on the bumpy side, in great condition. With only a little care you could probably use good skis. Thanks to Pete for the great conditions under what have been difficult circumstances.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
We survived and are open for skiing, fat biking and snowshoeing. We received 1" new snow. Ski, snowshoe and fat bike trails are in good to very good condition. Worn almost full depth classic tracks exist. B skis are recommended. Caution. Frost has caused heaving in the trails and they are bumpy. Expert trails are closed. Trail 5 is very rutted and not recommended. We close our trails when the snow turns to slush and recently had to close for a few afternoons. The payoff is having skiable conditions now. Trails are groomed/pulverized and no ice exists on our trail system.

Afterglow has a lot more snow available than others in the area. Conditions were really quite good though on the bumpy side. You could very well use the A skis with a little care. Kudos to Pete for closing his trails when the temp starts to get too high to maintain their condition. I skied from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM and conditions were actually quite fast. It was really pleasant.

Skated Afterglows trails this morning. Surprisingly good snow coverage. Skate deck was nice and firm. On the bumpy side, no surprise with the low snow so far this season, but still very few thin spots that need to be avoided. A great ski.

A great day of skiing. Conditions were very good. Tracks on most trails. Sunny and 18 deg. It doesn't get much better than this.
