Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
I usually skate ski Long Rider. However, today I decided to check out the classic trails. Grooming had just been completed and I was probably the second skier on Lion's Pride. I found the tracks to be shallow and somewhat erratic. Overall conditions on my first pass I would rate as good. I went back out to ski the Oak Ridge loop. The classic tracks had firmed up nicely second time around up to Doug's Folley. I continued on to Oak Ridge and Wild Thing which had lesser use and therefore had not set up as well. Overall conditions on my second pass I would rate as very good. The colder temperatures today didn't pose any problems and it was a great day of classic skiing.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All loops at Razorback are fully groomed. Skate trails were groomed last night and are much firmer than yesterday. Groomed and tracked classic trails this morning. They might be a touch soft here and there, but for the most part are very good to excellent.

Evening
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
As Ray Stevens once famously sang, everything is beautiful. Bob Polich groomed all the skate loops today and I followed by grooming and tracking all the classic loops. Honestly, everything is beautiful. I skied Lions Pride, Pine Hollow and Short Cut, and all had beautiful tracks. All should be firm and great for skiing for those willing to dress for the deep freeze.

Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Groomed all the skate loops this afternoon after making a repair to the Gator that prevented us from touching up the trails since last weekend. I also skied Long Rider after grooming and conditions are still a bit soft and the grooming was only mediocre with ridging due to the multiple passes in the soft snow. Unfortunately this was very noticeable skiing. Grooming plans: Plan to groom the skate loops again tomorrow night with hopefully better results. Will is grooming and setting track this afternoon on the classic trails.

Morning
Observation
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
As of this morning there is about two inches of loose powder on top of a solid base. We would have groomed today, but we lost a bogey wheel on the Gator. We're hoping the new part gets here overnight so we do the fix tomorrow and get back on the trails. In the meantime, the tracks from the weekend are still in good shape. Most were well skied in yesterday. It may be a bit soft and slow today. Same for the skate side. We'll update as soon as we get the Gator back out there.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Yesterday and early today Robert and I completed four passes on all skate and classic loops. Mostly excellent with a few places still just a little soft after 12 inches of snowfall. I just finished skiing 18k on the classic loops and they are in very good condition. Mostly firm tracks with a couple of lesser used loops still a bit soft. Overall, some of the best ski conditions of the entire winter.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
I groomed all the skate trails early this morning and Will is currently grooming and setting track on the classic trails. I skated a short loop after grooming to check condition of the trails and they are extremely soft and slow. There are some center ridges in spots from making multiple passes as well as some shallow gator ruts - more cosmetic than having any impact on skiing.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Getting an impressive amount of snow today - 10+ inches so far and continuing to fall. All skate loops were packed this afternoon and Will was heading out as I finished up to do the same on the classic trails. Grooming plans: I'll be out early tomorrow morning to groom the skate loops and then Will will take over to groom and track the classic trails.

Morning
Observation Scheduling
[ Trails: Closed ]
I just went over and checked the trails at the start. Because of the freezing rain we will not be doing any grooming until we get new snow. Though we don't have anyone at the warming building to prevent skiers from going out, I would strongly urge everyone to stay off until weather conditions improve enough for us to go out and regroom. Skiing on ice is not worth a broken leg.

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! We've been at Razorback every other day this week including today, and conditions are excellent. A bit slick and icy if you're not experienced, but boy what a treat for the intermediate skill. Thanks much, groomers!
