Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skated all the skate segments. Was very happy to find the trail conditions to be spot on to Friday's report submitted by Robert Prolic ( trail groomer). Actually I had no problems with debris on the trail. Trail was very level fast and fun. Had no problem keeping my balance. Thank you groomers for top notch grooming and spot on grooming reports.

Morning
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The warm weather yesterday resulted in glazed-over trails this morning. We groomed all of the skate loops, blending the glazing with the softer snow from below. Trails don't have perfect corduroy and there's a fair amount of debris but should be fast and fun. Classic trails are scheduled to be groomed on Saturday.

Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All trails were groomed today. Will took care of the classic trails and set new track this morning and I took care of the skate trails and did some more brushing and cutting. Other than some leaves, needles and occasional sticks that came down in the wind, trails are in excellent shape.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Will groomed and set track on all the classic trails on Thursday and I groomed all the skate loops today (and swept out Wills tracks on the shared trails - sorry). I did some more cutting and brushing along the skate and shared trails - there's a lot less to duck under and weave around but there's still a few to watch out for.

Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Groomed all the skate loops this afternoon. The new snow that came in last night really helped to smooth out the trails. There's still some trees and branches overhanging the trail but I whacked a lot of the worst offenders.

Morning
Firsthand: Classic Secondhand
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Conditions were a little slow today due to the morning flurries. Snow was firm, soft in a few spots, but overall the grooming is great and makes for great skiing. A few leaves or twigs here and there. Due to the couple of twigs, I rate it as B skis, but if you are mindful you will be fine with your good skis. Ran into a veteran skier on the trail so told me all the trails are open. So happy we are into ski season. Keep striding along or skating by! Thank you groomers!

Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Just finished grooming and tracking all classic loops. Like most areas in north Wisconsin, lots of low hanging brush and saplings from the last heavy, wet snowstorm, but for the most part the trails are clear and easily skiable. I would rate the tracks as very good to excellent. Robert finished grooming the skate loops yesterday afternoon, and from what I saw of them they are very good to excellent as well. I skied two classic loops yesterday afternoon, and to be truthful I found very little interference from the overhanging stuff. As I groomed today there are still some stretches where you will ski through a beautiful virtual white tunnel with saplings from both sides of the trail arching across to meet each other.

Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All skate loops where groomed this afternoon and some of the classic trails where groomed and track set (the remaining classic trails will be groomed in the morning). There's still some low-hanging branches that need to be watched for (we will start cutting the ones that don't spring back during the next grooming) and some bumpy sections but overall it's very good.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Six plus inches of wet, sticky snow, warm temps and tree gauntlets made today a challenge. In the end, the best we could do is track pack all the skate lanes, knock the snow off the droopy trees and roll a couple of the classic trails. Grooming plans: We will be back at it tomorrow hopefully whipping the trails into reasonable condition for the weekend.

Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
As of Tuesday afternoon I completed first grooming of the season. Prior to this I had rolled trails twice. It is iffy skiing right now. There are places where it would be fairly good, but many stretches that still need more snow. Not possible to set tracks yet. I would definitely use rock skis, and I would use great caution on steep downhills with curves. I discovered that the first side loop of Long Rider will have to be closed for the season as a berm was bulldozed at the completion of a logging project this summer on a steep downhill just before a sharp curve at the bottom. Otherwise, all trails will be open this winter.
