Same story, different day...fresh as always! We started skating and skijoring on the Millennium and found the whole thing freshly rolled with just a few prints here and there! After that we moved on to the Red trail and did a few loops skating and classic skiing. What a treat it was to have the groomer come by and refresh the trails that were already groomed and make them even nicer! I learned today that if they mark the blue trail as groomed, that means the Millennium will be too! Always worth the drive to Superior! 7 day a week grooming and a plethora of trails!

Out for an early morning skate at Superior Municipal Forest, and conditions were absolutely fabulous. This is especially true of the purple (connector included) and yellow. The whole yellow is in great condition (a few tilled up icy chunks on hill #4? on the uphill side). However, watch for skunks (why the heck are they out now??). I was sprayed after I pretty much ran into one on a the slight curvy downhill on the purple connector. Could have been worse but ughh. Thanks SMF for your best in the Ports grooming this season- the ski community has taken notice.

Excellent conditions for skate and classic on all trails. If you've been waiting for a smooth, wide skate deck and quality classic tracks on the full extent of yellow loop (Brown's Point), your wait is over. Freshly groomed, no need to worry about uneven, rutted or icy patches. The only potential hazard appears to be deer.

We skied the purple trail today around midday and the skate deck was freshly groomed absolute perfection! The classic tracks were really firm, mostly intact, however, due to the thaw/freeze there were quite a few spots that stuck in, if that makes sense, catching the skis so we got out of the tracks a lot to avoid falling. The tracks did not appear to have been redone. People were going both directions, making for some skate ruts on the downhills that were also a bit tricky to navigate at times.

It was snowing when we got to the trails. First we skate skijored the Millennium which was only groomed on the green portion of it. Before and after that section there were foot prints since it is a walking trail too. We went to the green and red after that to classic and skate. The skate lane was impeccable and the classic tracks had not been re groomed today, but were still in pretty darn good shape! Always worth the drive!

My son-in-law, Seth and I found some very good to excellent skiing at the Superior Municipal Forest Trails in Superior. There was plenty of snow, providing good coverage and control. The trails had just been groomed for skating and a new track was set. The classic track was deep and firm and offered good glide and kick. Lots of happy skiers out. The trails have a warming house and dog park as well. Enjoy!

We decided to skijor today on the Millennium trail. My husband was the "rabbit" on skate skis and we followed. The Millennium and blue trail are multiuse, dog, bike, ski and you don't need a ski pass if you stick to just those (we have a pass though). The trail had fresh cord on it and once we hit the short section that is shared with the green trail, there were also fresh tracks, past that it had not yet been rolled again.

Superior Muni Trails are almost back to perfect. Only the back end of the Yellow trail is still a bit bumpy. Skiing in falling snow was awesome. Great job groomers!
