Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Groomed today after all the new snow from the past few days. There was around 12" of new snow. There was snow falling as I was grooming so there will fresh snow in the track which will have to be skied in. All the bare spots and rocks are covered up so it's safe to use good skis now. The parking lot was not plowed yet when I left at dark. It is a winter wonderland right now with all the snow covering the trees and brush.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
A lovely Christmas Ski! Yesterday's +40°F weather had me worried, but the tracks were great (thanks groomers!). Tracks were not too icy as the fresh snow allowed for good kick. Some spots where grass/rocks could be poking through, but honestly I was super impressed with the trail conditions. It was also my first time on these trails. Rating system was accurate (green, blue, black). Just under 10km of trails according to my GPS. Trails were designed very well for classic striding.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
Hiram Ski Trail was groomed today after around 4" of new snow overnight. Conditions are fair to good with a track set thru out the system. The track is well formed overall. In some places the track setter exposed grass and leaves since the base is still thin. There are scattered sticks and cones as well as a couple of rocks showing thru in the track so I would still use your rock skis.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
Hiram ski trail got it's first grooming of the season today after this past weekends snow storm. The trail is ski-able but conditions are rough. The base is only around two inches so there is stubble, leaves and rocks showing thru the snow. The surface is also very uneven since there is not enough snow yet to level it out. Track is set in most places but it reached bare ground in many places so you will have to step out of the track to avoid those areas. Use your rock skis!
