Grooming [ Trails Open: Most, ]

The trails froze up hard last night so Pig Heart and Snow Cross headed out in both Pisten Bullies this morning and groomed for 3 hours to provide 9 am skiers some good spring skiing. As the temps warmed most trails that were groomed became skiable. We groomed old ABR this morning. Trails continue to be covered and skiing well. Grooming plans: We plan to do the same in the morning tomorrow.

It was a great morning for grooming... and skiing. We just ran both Pisten Bullies and we groomed Tammarack 2 track to Jason park, the highlands and ridge runner with the smaller Pisten Bully and the larger Pisten Bully groomed "old ABR" combination trails. About 55 k. The ski shop was busy with the 20-60% off sale, now thru March 16th at 4 pm. Grooming plans: Monday we will be grooming "old ABR" combination trails in the morning, weather cooperating. As of this morning everything was snow covered and skiable. We are closing Puumala trails, sunset, ridge runner. They are hilly and exposed to the strong March sun. We will groom them and reopen them as conditions dictate. Don't forget to RSVP for the celebration next Saturday March 15.

Observation [ Trails Open: All, ]

It rained this morning and then a bit this early afternoon. The rain turned to snow! We had 15-20 skiers out today most in the afternoon. Classic skiing was best but some skate skied. Grooming plans: Full groomer crew out in the early morning looking forward to grooming the new snow.

Great ski conditions. 4 inches of new snow provided perfect tracks. Sunny weather for a good day. Skied multiple trails.

Amazing ski day today at ABR! We had our best day of skiing in years today. The 6" of snow that fell yesterday was tilled to perfection with the older snow for a wonderful classic tracks and skate lane. Classic tracks were firm, sculpted, and Toko Blue Gripwax kicked great. Winter exists in Ironwood - check it out!

I unfortunately have not been able to ski much this season, however I got out this morning at 10:30 and had a great ski, I was skating. Eric and Mike were out this morning for 3 hours with both of the Pisten Bullies, and powertilled 41 k of trails this morning and it skied well. The new snow mixed in with the old and I was happy.

First time at ABR but definitely not the last. Staff incredibly helpful with wax recommendations, trails, etc. Skied yesterday in very warm condition so very little glide. Light dusting of snow and temps around freezing made for faster conditions today. Tracks were set on all skating trails but not on classic only trails. Tracks were firm and beautiful. Even classic trails that were not groomed this morning were very skiable with a light coat of snow in the tracks. What a gem.
