Happy Thanksgiving, we had a good day of skiing with temps in the mid 20's. We only regroomed about 10 km due to the Holiday and we will be back out regrooming early Friday morning.

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Good skis ]
Did roughly 8K of striding this morning with a little v30 providing great kick. Most trails were in "mid winter" conditions and are more than suitable for race skis. Tracks were deep and firm with a little dusting of snow on top from this mornings lake effect snow. Skate deck seemed firm for those skating minus the dusting of snow on top.

Morning
Firsthand: Both
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Skied both classic and freestyle over the weekend from Saturday to Monday. Trails are close to mid winter excellent condition, skied my A- skis both classic and freestyle. They seem to getting 2 to 3 inches of new snow almost daily so the trails are improving rapidly. There are a few thin spots in the lower areas that can be easily stepped around with little to no risk of nicking a ski.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Arrived at noon today to find good conditions considering it is still early season skiing. Classic skied only, and most of my skiing was on classic only trails. Classic tracks were good except in the very few areas were the trail had some undulation. Only encountered one bare spot on the return portion of hemlock trail. Also a few thin spots. Because of this l would recommend B skis. The imperfections on the trails are overall very minor. With more snow they will rapidly disappear. Fortunately, it snowed several inches this afternoon and following more grooming in the morning should improve the trails even more. Wonderful trails!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
We groomed 2 inches of new snow early this morning, we reset 30 km of tracks this morning and regroomed most of the skate lanes...and then it snowed another 3 inches this afternoon and is still snowing. Groomers will be back out in the early morning. We are skiing on 45 km of trail.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Winter wonderland with fresh snow coming down in the morning and sunshine in the afternoon. Parking lot was nearly full but with so many trails open they did not feel busy. Skiing was slow due to all the fresh ungroomed snow but still gorgeous and well worth the drive. Should firm up nicely with a grooming and cool temps tonight.

Grooming Scheduling
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
We are opening for the season Saturday at 9 am. We have been grooming with three groomers since last Saturday to establish a good base frozen and wide. 40 Km is open, 25 km tracked on the side of the skate lanes, 30 km skating. Thin but very skiable, ice in the low areas...common sense says don't try your race skis on the first ski here.
Note: SKI SHOP SALE tomorrow, 9-4. Trails open 9-4 CST.

Grooming Scheduling
[ Trails: Closed, B skis ]
We Ginzu groomed about 25 km of combination trail and 7 km of classic only trail. We are working on a few wet areas over the next few days before we open. As of today we are planning on opening Saturday and the SKI SHOP SALE will be on as well. We hope to have about 40 km open and in pretty good shape if our grooming and freezing cycles go as scheduled.

We packed about 35-40 km of trail today after receiving close to 2 feet of snow. We plan on being back out in the morning to pack additional KM and perhaps start grooming what has been packed and frozen. We plan on opening Thursday or Friday next week. Stay tune for ski conditions and opening date.
