Still very good conditions today, especially considering the limited amount of snow to work with. The depth of the tracks was variable from washed out to pristine--probably depending on when the area was last groomed. The middle part was the best. The skating deck looked firm, and there was some loose snow available for snowplowing when needed. There were areas in the pines and oaks where tree debris was problematic. No bare spots, although there were some occasional groomer scrapes on the far edge that could be easily avoided. It was 32 degrees when we finished.

Trails appear to have been recently groomed with the track reset. Track is shallow but well defined and very skiable. Little debris on the trail.

Trails are a firm but not hard or icy base with the surface a mix of the transformed base and untransformed old cold snow with a micro dusting of new very fine-grained powder. Classic tracks have collected more powder, so are slower, with more kick than in the skate deck. Some tree debris. Should be good ski conditions, and warmer, for the Lumberjack Jaunt now scheduled for next Sunday February 1.

Another fraction of an inch (1/4") of snow mid-morning during and after today's grooming. Skate lanes groomed and skied in from users. Track was re-set in many areas with fair results. Not deep due to the hard, icy base but skiable overall. Kick and double poling was good with the light snow.

Skate lanes groomed today mixed the new snow from the last few days with the older transformed snow underneath to make a fairly fast surface over a solid base. Older crusty classic track with skied-in snow, but also areas where track is totally snowed-in or gone.

No new snow and warm temps early in the week created icy conditions, but grooming efforts on the skate lanes this afternoon made for fine to course textured snow/ice crystals. About 3/4 inch of loose granular material to get a edge while skating. Classic track very hard and icy and not redone.

Solid skate deck a mix of older snow and some new snow from about an inch Saturday morning. Warm temperatures close to 40 F this afternoon did not really affect the snow at all. Older classic track with skied-in newer snow on top. Or course some oak leaves and other tree debris, but not too bad. Around 5 inches of snow on the trails and about a foot in the woods.

The skate lanes were touched up on Wednesday morning. Warm temperatures yesterday, but the skate deck today was firm and could still get an edge. Grooming plans: Skate lanes to be regroomed on Friday morning, I was told by the groomers. The classic track is there but a bit icy, I suspect.

Snow was great! Appears that all trails are open! Some sticks and leaves down in the heavier wooded sections, but overall fantastic skiing! Skate skied, but the classic tracks also looked to be in good condition.

Hats off to the groomer! Christmas Day skate skiing was wonderful. Some tree debris but manageable. Tracks set for classic on most runs.
