Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Freshly groomed corduroy as of 9 AM this morning. They were out for 2+ hours grooming. Some debris on the trail (trails look better in the dark) and tracks were refreshed this morning. Very nice skiing and lots of deer walking around including a few bucks!

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Skate deck appears recently groomed and in very good shape. Classic tracks are very worn and skied out, and there is a lot of tree leaf litter skied into the track. It does not appear the classic tracks have been reset in awhile. Classic tracks get slightly better the further you get away from the GC clubhouse.

[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Good conditions at Cleary. Track was a bit worn and glazed in a few spots, especially near the Visitor's Center, but generally in good shape. Minimal leaf litter. Took the old waxless skis due to the temps, but your good skis would be fine. Upper Ironwood hill is closed. Great shape considering the warmish weather.

Skated the outer, 6.2 km loop in the afternoon, the temp getting to 17 degrees, with quite the southerly wind. The deck had been well groomed and the tracks looked good, but in places there was a moderate or worse leaf quotient. Nevertheless, coverage was good at 17 degrees, so I was not concerned using my good skis. Lots of classic skiers out enjoying this pleasant wooded and quieter ski venue.

I skated the outer loop late Sunday afternoon. Lower Ironwood is closed, all other segments are open. The new snow was rather slow and squeaky at +7F, but the wind was light making for a comfortable ski. The underlying base is solid with no thin spots. Classic tracks are in very good condition. Had to step around some leaf debris in a few places, but had no problems using my good skis. Looking forward to some fast conditions once it warms up a bit!

Evening

[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Good conditions this evening for classic. The wind left quite a few leaves on the trail and some areas where the tracks were filled in from drifting snow. Thanks for grooming it so quickly after the storm!

Groomed this morning. Very soft deck with tracks for classic. Some tree debris due to the strong wind. Very little drifting and mostly out of the wind. Not fast but enjoyable on trail.

Got out on the trail this morning at 8 a.m. I skied the Outer Loop twice. It had just been groomed and the skate deck was in great shape. Classic tracks had not been set. Get out and enjoy the great conditions.

Icy classic tracks, corners, and dips. Classic tracks were too icy to generate much kick. Some leaf debris on the trails, but overall still good skiing conditions.

Fresh corduroy this morning! Some tree debris on the trails and some frozen run-off areas especially in the low lying areas. Overall in good shape. Recommend B skis based on the tree debris and ice. Tracks are firm and fast! Great job to the Cleary Lake Maintenance Team for keeping the trails in good shape despite the warmer temps.
