Poor but skiable conditions. Packed this morning for skate skiing but no tracks. Some rocks poking through the snow on the uphills and near the lake. Tree debris along the trail.

Super fast conditions this morning for skate skiing. A bit iced and skied over on some spots. Good grip though. Some debris here and there, especially on classic tracks by trailhead. You know what’d be great? That walkers stayed off the skiing trails.

Squirrelly! Hard packed but trails have not been groomed since Monday morning. Challenging at times to hold a flat ski. Tracked for classic but deteriorating quickly. Some tree debris on the trails and a few rocks popping through the snow.

Still very skiable, some dirt/grass showing thru in the tracks here and there, but easily avoided. Base is getting thinner every day.

Excellent snow coverage, but fair grooming--very uneven skate deck. Outer loop had no set track. Hopefully further grooming will help.

Unfortunately conditions were predictably awful for skating - soft and rutted. It had been rolled but not tracked. It was about 34 degrees when I skied at dusk. I skied the entire perimeter except Lower (Upper? ) Ironwood that was closed. I could not sustain a skate; maybe skated over a hundred yards uninterrupted three times. Coverage was very good, I might have hit pavement once on one of my strides otherwise good skis should be okay. Classic track washed out several times on return from top of Ironwood. I used skis waxed last season with FastWax Salmon LF.
