Firsthand: Both

Great conditions, thanks again to the groomers. Track is nicely set and fast and skating lane is wide and a mix of nice corduroy and chewed up snow, but fast and wonderful nonetheless.

Very fast ski this morning. Shallow track has been set, but disappears in spots. Very fast downhills. Be very careful on Quinn Hill. Not a novice ski day.

Excellent grooming conditions, skied behind the groomer who was making a nice corduroy. All trails seemed to have a nice track set, we skated and conditions were fast and lovely. Thank you to the groomers.

A bit above freezing, but trails are in great shape. Track is nice, though warm. No bare areas at all, just a bit slow in sections because of the warm spell. Highly recommended. Thanks to the groomers for stellar conditions and well-marked trails.

Observation Scheduling
[ Trails Open: All ]
CEC Nordic will be hosting their invite race for area ski teams on Thursday, Dec 19th. As it is a classic race an extra track will be set for the event and we are asking skiers to classic only on the trail. After the race, Pine Valley will reopen to skate skiing by late afternoon on Thursday. Thanks for your understanding!

Freshly groomed. A firm classic track has been set. The skate deck is a little soft, but the trail is fast with the colder weather.

Still in excellent shape and freshly groomed, they were working on them again while I skied. Unfortunately, no classical tracks were set on the 5.5 K loop at that time.

Freshly groomed; excellent condition on the 5.5 K loop (didn't ski the shorter ones). A tad soft, but in great shape. Classical tracks didn't start until 2K in; hopefully they were set later.

The groomer had just finished setting the classic track when I arrived. Two to three inches of new snow today. Best snow in years for this time of year. The city has apparently hired and experienced groomer and it seems to be paying off already. Skate deck is soft, but the groomer was still working on it when I left.

Entire trail has great snow coverage and is compacted (though pole plants were punchy in a few spots). The skate deck is a bit uneven laterally at the moment but the groomer was out there working on it. Classic tracks were there in some spots but not there in others.
