Notes

Small park near the end of the Gateway Trail. There is beautiful scenery with trails winding through pine forest, and near small lakes and picturesque farms. The course is quiet, sheltered, and has a lot of fun roling hills. Most of the terrain is intermediate in difficulty.

No track set but good skating. Minimal debris. About 1” fresh snow not groomed. Very cold at -7 F so made it a quick loop.

Great skate skiing around noon. Some needles/leaves and a few dirty spots, but overall nice conditions. I would be fine using good skis. Only a couple hills that have some dirty snow. It was great to be skiing at Pine Point! Thanks groomers!

Afternoon

[ B skis ]
Was hoping for a great afternoon skating at Pine Point. Pulled into the parking lot and was sorely disappointed that nothing had been groomed yet (>24 hrs after the snow had stopped). Looked like a few brave souls had skiied in a track. But nowhere near packed down enough to skate. Hoping the county gets out there soon.

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
No grooming. Disappointed, gorgeous day. Skier set tracks from yesterday were fairly firm, lots of snowshoes, hikers, horse tracks on the North Side. B skis or backcountry suggested for rugged snow conditions.
