Grooming south, central, and north this morning. Coming out beautifully. Could get pretty slow by this afternoon with high temps, but will be a beautiful day to get out and ski!

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Arrived late this morning to freshly groomed and tracked trails, which had just been completed as we started our ski. Joanie and I strided Norway Pine, Wildcat, North, and Central trails. After receiving 12+ inches of snow, the trails were in very good condition, with some soft spots in the tracks occasionally. The skate lanes were still soft and a bit uneven, and are narrow in many places on the trail system. Most of the time, these trails are better for striding than skating. A very enjoyable day-thanks for the grooming!

Trails are in excellent condition. Very light fluffy snow so skate lane a little soft in some spots.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
I skied the central, North, Red oak and South loops. There were a few short areas with exposed soil on the North loop. On the Red Oak trail there was one hill climb on the out portion with some small rocks exposed and one downhill on the return portion with vegetation exposed in the tracks only. Mild leaf/needle debris throughout. Conditions were not icy today.

A few spots are thin and some debris, but overall very nice. I skied the Central and North trails. It looked to me that all trails were open.

Trails are in excellent condition. Some spots are thin and there is some debris on the windier parts of the trails like the ridges.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
All trails are now groomed with track set except Norway Pine which only has a skate deck. Overall trails are in good condition although they vary from fair to excellent. Track set up nice in most places, but there are a few stretches that aren't great. Those same stretches have a small amount of fine debris, but they are short.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Most trails are packed and have a very nice skate deck with very little debris. Red Oak and Wildcat are not packed, but there is plenty of snow for free skiing, it just got too warm and it was packing the groomer, but we'll try to hit those tomorrow. There wasn't quite enough snow to set track.

Secondhand
[ Trails: Closed ]
From Forest Staff: Warm weather the past few weeks has resulted in a lot of snow loss and then re-freezing causing icy conditions. Also, while we have cleared a lot of trees and branches off of the trail there is a lot of debris still on the trail frozen into the snow and ice. We did get a couple of inches of fresh snow on Thursday but not quite enough to pack the trails again and create decent conditions. We may try packing them tomorrow but I am not hopeful there is enough snow.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, Rock skis ]
We were able to get some of the trails groomed and track set! There is still a lot of debris on the trail which we will likely be battling all winter. Be prepare for some low hanging branches as well. Trees and limbs are still falling, but much less frequently, so keep your ears open for snapping and don't be upset if there are more down trees down over the weekend. All things considered, the skate lane is in pretty good shape and the tracks set up nicely. We will continue work on clearing next week! Open South, Central, western half of North, Links 2 and 3. Closed: Wildcat, Red Oak, Norway Pine, Ridge, and Link 1.
