Skate skied the north loop about noon. Firm, fast and fun. Lots of debris all over, but isn't that all trails in NW WI right now? No reason to not go ski. One should plan for some scratches on the ski base, and if you get away with it all is well. The south loop is more groomed than the north just because it was the first that was opened post snowstorm. I heard Highland Lowland is a bit rough right now from a fellow skier I passed along the trails. Dog Island is open. Tram was not yet groomed but I believe it's being cleared today.

Morning
Firsthand: Classic Secondhand
[ Good skis ]
Another great classic day at Hickory Ridge. No set track and it was soft due to the high 30's temperatures. They will set the tracks when the weather gets colder. Skied the south and north loops. Fantastic!

Great ski today. Hickory Ridge was rolled and packed. Not that soft. They did a ton of work to clear the trails from debris. Thanks! Good skis OK. No track but it was fun. Very beautiful. We skied from the south parking lot to the north parking lot. Paid our respects to Dave and skied back.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Ski Trail: Two Way, South Loop, North Loop and Dog Island Connector were rolled and groomed with the drag today for skating. No tracks have been set yet. There are still some smaller branches overhanging the trail edges that can be trimmed back if you come across them to help us out. Fatbike Trail: West Trappers, Shangri La, and Burnt Wagon were all cleared and groomed today. Burnt Wagon will have a couple of soft spots where it drifted really bad. Enjoy.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
Assisted with clean up this morning. As the connector and south loop cleared yesterday, the north loop was cleared today. Snow machines were used to get back to the trails which started helping to pack down snow. Later morning, the official groomer started rolling now that it is clear just enough to pass along those trails. For skiing, yes the trail could be skied. Plenty of snow but have to image it will be soft. It's going to take a fair number of passes to pack it down. If you go out this week it would help to pickup a few small branches or shake down some more trees. Not sure what Dog, Hiland, or Tram look like. No tracks set yet. Some grooming may be planned for tomorrow.
