The trails were very nice. It was snowing lightly, so the tracks were filled in a little bit. We saw wolf tracks on the Tofte Trail and fresh wolf scat.

Skied the Onion River Loop, In the newly groomed classic tracks. Perfection! Skate ski not yet groomed, but it looks great with about an inch of new fluffy powder on top of old grooming. Snow covered trees. Magical. Thanks to the groomers for a job well done.

Skate skied from Tofte to Britton Peak, down Bridge Run then back to Britton and Summit View, then back down to Tofte. A couple inches of fresh powder was not yet groomed, but the deck was solid and it skied like butter! There were a few classic tracks in the powder from Britton Peak. Only a few twigs and pine cones were barely evident in fresh snow. Near 10F today made for a fantastic ski, even if it was a tad slow. Such a great trail system!

Skied from Oberg trailhead around picnic loop, hogback, homestead and the connector back to Oberg. Going was slow due to cold temps. Classic tracks were slow and shallow due to drifting snow and leaves accumulating in tracks. So I stayed on the skate deck which was faster. I am glad however, I was not skating as drifts on Picnic ridge and Hogback ridge would have prevented good technique. Snow is good and deep, but wind and cold create small problems. Overall glad I was out there.

After Norpine, I thought I would check out Sugarbush at the Brittain Peak Trailhead. It must have just been packed but no classical track set and it was very soft so I only did a short loop. But like Norpine, with the new snow very beautiful! A quick check of the snow depth just off-trail and it was more than half of my ski pole.

Arrived at 2pm to a mostly full parking lot at the Oberg Trailhead. It was pretty cold (5 degrees) but sunny and no wind so a very enjoyable ski on nicely groomed trails. There were some pesky pine needles and leaves in the tracks but didn't seem to slow the skiing down too much. The downhills were very fast both in and out of the tracks.

Beautiful classic ski today. Trails nicely groomed. Rex Green Power Grip worked well but leaves in tracks were a bit tricky on the downhills. Will probably go with my skins tomorrow. Second weekend in a row that I have come up from the Cities to enjoy the natural snow and backwoods experience. Thanks to the groomers.

Great grooming everywhere, with occasional pine needles and leaves in the tracks. Snow deep. Groomer was out grooming today. Skate skiing looked perfect. Sun streaming through the trees. Creation at its best. Frosty temps, but it was totally warm while skiing. Thanks to the groomers.
