Superb day of classic skiing on the just groomed trails near Onion Road Access. Piston Bulley made for perfect conditions. Lots of skiers by noon on a near perfect day.

Second day at the Sugarbush. Perfect trails. They have set up nice and are becoming quite fast. Plenty of snow for braking. Big time fun! Thank you Sugarbush for the awesome care of this system! That new piston bully is doing the job!

From Briton Peak, skied two laps around Hogback and Homestead and then the Tofte ski down. Skate deck was firm, glide was wonderful, tracks bombproof and snow obviously very abundant. Two other things were abundant, first lots of people and second lots and lots of smiles even on people humping uphill. Great day.

Sugarbush trail conditions were absolutely stellar. Temps around freezing. Used skin skis which were dead on for kick and glide. Great day of skiing. Had a ball. Like a good trip to your favorite amusement park!

First time on the Sugarbush trail system. Top notch grooming and very little traffic. Gorgeous views and great way to get in a lot of k's. It was freshly groomed but above freezing temps made it very slow going.

Classic skied most of the Sugarbush system today from Oberg Trailhead, East Oberg, Picnic loop, Hogback to Britain Peak and back over bridge loop and Homestead, then the connector back to Oberg. In years and years of skiing this trail, I cannot remember better conditions. But I am old and my last ski day is usually the best one! Grooming was immaculate. The tracks were firm, outside pole plants solid and the skate deck was perfect cord, not at all soft as I had expected. Swix VR45 was the right wax for the day w/ temps around freezing. Should be great on Sunday as well for skating this time around.

Skied from Britton Peak trailhead this morning, hitting Hogback and Homestead. The trails looked freshly groomed. I was either the first person on the trails or following one person who had skated. Grooming was impeccable: well-formed, consistent tracks with great pole plants the whole way.

Parked at the Oberg trailhead and skied L to M then over the top of the Picnic loop. The trail had been groomed recently, but was soft in places. The outing would have been very nice were it not for the deep (and dangerous) snowmobile sled tracks down the center of the trail.

Skies the Picnic Loop from the Britton side. The grooming was excellent. Hogback and Homestead were more skied in with the Picnic Loop portions in almost perfect conditions. For the amount of snow that fell the tracks set up quite well. With cold snow the speeds were slower but the skiing was so great it went by too fast. Chapeau groomers.

I had about as perfect a day of skiing as you could ever hope for. I skied the Picnic loop and it was meticulously groomed and firmer than I was expecting with all the new snow. The new Piston Bully is doing a fine job on the trails, and we should have snow lasting for quite a while.
