32 degrees, calm, some sun and clouds. The East side was groomed. Where there is good coverage the tracks were in great shape. Thin in other areas. Did the 1-2-5-3 loop with 3 of the best musicians on the Iron Range. So good to see each other since Sept. And reconnect in the woods and take in the surrounding area.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
What a beautiful day! Met a few happy skiers while grooming. We set fresh track on everything we had previously done as well as a few more green segments. Reports from the parking lot say that the snow is fast and the tracks held even on the downhills. Super fun!

Afternoon

[ Good skis ]
Just did most of the eastern loop. Hoarfrost in the pines and blue skies appeared to accent them. Track getting a lot of use today. Holding up for the most part. Solid pole plants. 18 vehicles in the lot when I left. I saw beginning little kids with parents and up to senior citizens in their 70s enjoy the mid 20s and calm day.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
The fluffy snow packed down to reveal a few rocks in places. All trails are packed. We did set track in the south loops as well as the middle north-south "main drag" (if you are familiar with the intersections: 1-8-9-11-16-22-9, as well as 22 out to 28). Looks like many avid skiers have been out enjoying the trails already, myself included. My recon/fun ski on Saturday turned into quite the trail breaking adventure, next time I'll bring a headlamp! Uff da, haha. Have fun out there!
