A good crowd showed up to enjoy the classic skiing. Tracks are holding up well. A, D, X and portions of B are open. Deer season is over so will be opening more trails after temperatures drop.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
Dan provided some great classic tracks after 3-4" of lake effect snow on Tuesday. We still had a frozen base underneath after last weekends rain. Swix 55, or Start Oslo purple provides kick. Skin tecs were working well.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
We did get around 3 inches yesterday and overnight. Groomed A,B into H junction and back out,D and X. Still rock ski conditions but for the most part pretty darn good. Still need quite a bit of snow to start dragging the trails flat. The Lodge opens December 1st and deer season is over then as well so as we get snow and freezing temps we will work toward getting the entire system open ASAP.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
We have gotten around 6 inches of fresh snow in the last 2 days. Rolled A,B backwards to the H junction and back,D and X last night and again this morning. Then set tracks on all that was rolled. Both Heavens are rolled and tracked. Things are starting to smooth out and the tracks are very nice. Skating is also getting quite good. Plan to open the first loop on G and W after Thanksgiving but will not be grooming the entire system until after deer season which ends November 30th. Happy Holiday!

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
Pretty good classic tracks at Valley Spur today. Classic tracks were hard and fast. Waxed with blue extra. Only about 25% of the trails are open. X and B trail were the best. I would not recommend skating. Skate lane looked really uneven. They may need more snow to even out the skate lane.

Evening
Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, Rock skis ]
Rolled in around 6 to 8 inches of snow on A,B backwards to Heart Attack and G return, D and down Skaters Heaven today. Then set track on A, B backwards to the bottom of Heart Attack and back, Stairway to Heaven, across X and down Classic Heaven. Tracks are too thin in a few spots but overall good. Rolled trails are wide enough to skate but pretty uneven in most areas. Rock skis should be used throughout. We need more snow. Good news is we are off to an early start and we don't have the flooded areas we did last year so with snow things will shape up quickly. We will not be grooming the entire system(only certain sections) until after deer season to avoid skier/hunter issues.

Grooming
[ Trails: Closed, Rock skis ]
Welcome to the start of the 2018/19 ski season! It looks like the snow might just stay so grooming starts today! I will be doing some rolling and maybe set some track today depending on snow depth. We will keep everyone posted. Think Snow!
