All trails were groomed this morning. I skied B, H, and D. Some small branches sticking out and watery “potholes” on H. Fluffy and good for falling - I tested this myself.

Groomed skate lanes on A,B,D,X,Y,W,G return as well as the 2 middle loops on G which have Big Foots and Le Mans on them. Very skiable. Skating remains very good and the classic track is glazed but still solid. Looks like a good chance for snow in the next couple days so we can freshen up the tracks too. We have a thin but very solid base and when we get some snow things will shape up quickly.

Skied A, B, C, D, Y, W this morning. Snow is holding up despite a couple of really warm days. Everyone seems to need snow right now and I’m thankful to be skiing. Thanks to the groomers for their efforts!

H trail is now opened up and groomed for both skate and classic. Typical early season low snow conditions. No track set through Worels Woods but descent conditions on both sides of it. The rest of the system is holding up pretty well all things considered. Todays 37 degrees and partial sun are not helping matters but shouldn't cause any real damage to the trails other than make the tracks very fast and hard early in the day. We will be grooming the skate lanes regularly but simply don't have enough base to reset a track until we get some fresh snow. Very rare day that we are begging for snow at VS this time of year! Think Snow!

Conditions are holding up well even with the bit warmer daytime temperatures. Classic tracks are still solid most everywhere. The Heavens are getting a bit beat up from all the traffic so exercise caution when coming down those. Groomed skate lane on A, B, C, D, G, I, W and Z this morning. Skating on B, Y and W are exceptional. Hoping for some snowfall soon so we can freshen up the whole system. Plan to get H opened up sometime this week.

My wife and I had a great New Years Day ski at V.S today. Overall conditions are very good with a very few avoidable dirt spots and some weeds still poking up here and there. Skate lane is pretty flat and firm with very few soft pole plants. The classic track looks to be holding up really well from the previous grooming 2 days ago. Lots of people out enjoying the mild temperatures and sunshine.

Rolled and set new tracks on all the open loops last night A, C, D, G, I, X, Y and Z with our deep tracksetter and the went out early this morning and Ginzu groomed the skate lanes on all the flat loops like Y, W the last part of B and the G return. Still a little too thin to ginzu groom the hilly loops. Conditions get better and better with each groom but still a ways from mid Winter conditions. Need just another good snow to safely open B and H. Hopefully soon. Happy New Year to All!

The trails have seen a lot of use in the last couple days. Still some thin spots but the tracks were very fast today although they were washed out in spots from all the traffic. We classic skied but the skate lanes back on Y and W looked really good.

Groomed skate lanes on all open trails this morning and set new tracks on trails that received snow after we left yesterday. B and H are still closed although we did some packing on B to try and freeze the swamp. Pretty typical early season conditions, a little rough in some areas and really good going in others. The skating up on the flat loops Y and W is really good.
