Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
Standing Rocks ski trails have been groomed and track reset on all the trails Remember trail conditions can rapidly change with the warm temperatures. Recommend rock skis unless you know our consistent thin areas in low snow conditions and you avoid them. Red pine run, northwest passage and outback these currently require rock skis. Other sections of trail vary from good to poor conditions but B skis will be fine. The track is in fair condition. It is shallow and not available in areas with thin and icy areas. Roughly 85% of the trails have tracks for classical.

[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Conditions varied from good to poor. They did a good job of making a skiable surface on most of the trail. Overall, I was surprised at how good they were able to make it with what they have to work with. It is very thin with bare patches, and icy in spots. There are a few places you may want to remove your skis. We did not do Red Pine or go down last thrill hill but did ski everything else. If you don't want to take your skis off use rock skis.

[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Skated the entire Blue except for the Red Pines and "Last Thrill" loops. Full but thin coverage throughout. Didn't find any ice, but forest debris in the usual spots warrants B skis. Beautiful morning to be out! Disclaimer: no guts were busted in the shooting of the attached photo.

Afternoon

[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Skate deck was hard and fast, nearly bulletproof but very thin. I was hitting ice with my pole plants. Grooming is still good on all trails. Definitely B skis, just need more snow.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
All trails are groomed and tracked. Skate deck is firm and fast, but thin in spots. Still a couple of trouble spots, otherwise fine conditions for the red and blue inner loops. Tracks were good, thin in some spots. B skis.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
The cross country ski trails have been groomed and track set on all the trails. Still recommend B skis for a few thin and icy spots. The fat tire bike trail was groomed after the drifting. The trail is firm and fast, studs not needed.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Today only the lighted sections of the trails were groomed. What I skied, both groomed and ungroomed was in very good shape. I didn't venture to the western sections of the trail system where the thin sections were reported. Grooming plans: The red and blue trails are scheduled to be groomed tonight.

Good condition close on the lighted loops and inner loops. The outer loops varied with thin bases, ok coverage, and some dirt to watch out for. Good tracks, coverage, and skiing on inner loops!

[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
I skied the red and two inner loops of the blue at the Rock. The skate deck is firm, has little to no debris and good for 95 % of the trail system. The 5 inches of wet snow really helped. There are some thin areas and icy spots, but easily avoidable. I would say B skis because of a few patches. The tracts were set on most of the red and blue but they looked thin and worn. My rating would be fair.
