Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Good things come to those who wait. We have received over a foot of snow over the previous 24 hrs. Last night we received 4-6" of dry cold snow. All trails have been packed and tracked. The skate deck currently is soft and creamy and the tracks set great but will be soft as well. The next few days are looking like great skiing.

Speechless! Nordic Heaven was spectacular thanks to the grooming team here. Please join the fundraiser for the needed snowmobile, thanks for your trail work well into March1. Skate and Classic lanes are slow so you can take in the scenery.

Grooming

We got 2 inches of snow last night over the 10 inches we had the day before. Everything is groomed and new track is set. We have a snowmobile fundraiser going on so, ski hard, but donate harder. Excellent conditions.

Soft skate deck. Tracks covered in fresh snow. Groomer was out. Sticky snow very little glide. Skied Black. Pretty slow but beautiful.

As the conditions allowed, all the trails except Black have been renovated this afternoon and early evening in anticipation of additional snowfall. We will post updates after the next grooming operations.

[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Classic skiers beware: the people who have spent their late nights destroying the trails were at it again. The tracks are mostly gone. The wheel left ruts and wells that make the hills tricky mixed with very wet compact snow. Skaters have a deck but its welled from the vehicle(s). Be careful, its still a beautiful day.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Good skis ]
Six inches of heavy, wet snow was plastered on the icy base of the Greenbush Trails overnight. I went out late afternoon and the system has been rolled, groomed and tracks set. I classic skied the Purple Loop and there was track set on all but the first section of pines. Skate deck looked soft and sticky, but should set up with colder temps. I guessed right with Swix VR70 corked in on a good pair of skis and had excellent kick. Post-Birkie kicking and gliding through the Kettle Moraine, with cranes squawking and geese honking always puts a smile on one's face.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Greenbush was blessed with close to 10" of heavy snow. Our grooming team spent countless hours packing, grooming and setting track. All trails are open, and may be a little soft today, but should firm up nicely overnight. Come on out and enjoy this winter wonderland! And please donate to our grooming operations if you can. Thank you!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
We received 1" of dry snow overnight which helped reduce but not eliminate the grey ice/slushy areas. We packed and tracked the brown, red, pink and portions of the green loop up to the second cutoff to purple this morning. The pines on the green have substantial debris down, but with the new snow should be passable without too much trouble. The base was softening up quickly with the sun and the fact that there is a lot of free moisture low in the base and in some areas of the set track. I suggest using extreme caution on all trails as the temperature drops this evening and trails refreeze.

A ski in March, in southern Wisconsin is always a treat. The temperature was below freezing when I started. There were a lot more icy areas since my last ski on Thursday. The groomer scraped things up a bit this morning, which helped. Parts of purple, green, red, and all of brown had been groomed. If you go when it's below freezing be very careful on downhills. I side stepped a few.
