Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Everything but Eldris was scratched up with a Ginzu Groomer. Skating should be fast and fun! Only 2-3 spots with a bit of dirt tilled in. Classic tracks are icy, be cautious and bring your ice klister if you plan on classicing.

Absolutely fantastic conditions when we went out at 11:00 AM and 34 degrees, firm and fast skate deck made for extended glides. A few spots with needles and twigs, but well worth the trip.

Enjoyed a 15k skate, a 15k classic followed by a potluck and sauna with ski friends not at Birkie weekend, all the time wondering why I don't ski here more often. The trails had been recently groomed and were perfect. The skate deck was fresh corduroy and classic tracks held up nicely even with the warming temps. Sure, there was some oak leaf litter in places but that just kept me on my toes. Come up and plan to make a day of it. Thank you to all the volunteers who make this the perfect quick destination ski.

[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Tilled skate deck and deep classic tracks - perfects post-Vasaloppet skiing! After grooming I skied nearly every trail skating and track was hard, but not too hard. Just perfect for skiing. Also, check out the new trail maps posted at the Nordic Center and out on the trails. You can download the map from Trailforks.com as well!

Trails really held up after the first day of racing and was in great shape for the first running of the Classic 20k. I raced with my skin skis, because I was uncertain of how wax would hold up since it had been really icy. The were really fast by the end of the race. Great job Vasaloppet groomers!

This has to have been the best ski conditions in years for the Mora Vasaloppet trails. Nice firm classic deck - only a few areas where it was icy.
Love that they got rid of the hill (bottle neck) at the east end of the lake. Great job with the trail system.

[ Trails Open: All ]
Despite the recent warm spell, the Vasaloppet ski trails have ample snow, and will be in superb condition for the race this coming weekend. Current conditions have a few icy spots, but all of those areas will be fixed buy trail volunteers during the week so the trail will be in tip-top condition for the races.

[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Conditions were quite disappointing. After receiving an email from Vasaloppet that trails were great, we went with high expectations. The trails had not been groomed recently, they were hard frozen with ski ruts throughout. There were a few very short segments that had been groomed that day and were great corduroy, but they would last for 30 seconds and then the trail would revert to the hard rutted version.

Ski conditions continue to be good on the 13km of trails at the Nordic Center. Vasa Hills and loops skied great and fast. Skiers will encounter some areas with forest debris from trees--especially along the first portion of the eastern loop. The Ridge trail is open but groomed with only a Yellowstone.
