Trail Reports

2021-2022 season
Reports 11 to 16 of 16    Month: Mar | Feb | Jan | Dec
Wednesday, January 12, 2022
Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
White Pine, Greeley Creek up to the dam, and CCC. All ski trails groomed for classic Good to excellent track with frequent debris (oak leaves and conifer needles on White Pine and Greeley). Track drifted over in the big open area (scoured by the 2012 flood) of the White Pine. CCC north of the highway probably has the least debris of all the park trails (mostly aspen poplar).

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Skied Oak Trail at Jay Cooke. Classic tracks are firm and in great shape. Unfortunately, the tracks are covered in dead leaves and debris every few feet.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
With an extra layer and buff, ventured to Jay Cooke and it was amazing. I've skied there now a few times this week and have covered the entire system--all good. Tracks were solid, extra green provided good kick and the skies were blue. I believe this pic says it all...

Morning
Firsthand: Classic Observation
[ Good skis ]
Skied CCC Friday morning and the trail was in great shape. Gorgeous with snow in the trees. White Pine and Thompson Loop also looked to have been groomed but I did not ski them.

The north side was mostly rolled and they were making progress. Just starting to get tracks set as I was leaving. Beautiful skiing though.

[ Trails: Closed ]
MN DNR site says: As of December 11, we have about 2-3" of snow on the ground, which is not enough to groom. Trails are still open to hiking. Watch out for icy patches.
