I arrived at the parking lot as the Piston Bully was leaving. I was fortunate to be one of the first skiers on freshly groomed tracks. The pole plant was a little soft. Or, perhaps I used baskets that were a little small. Hopefully that firms up overnight.

Trails have not been groomed since the last snow, but the track is firm and fast. The warmer temps haven't harmed the trails.

Primo conditions at Piedmont today, at 19 F, with some sun, and great views. The tracks are in great shape and fast, with only the very rare maple leaf.

Excellent conditions. There were freshly set tracks when we got on the trail around noon. Skiing wasn't real fast and the whipped out area after "No Root Beer Here" is good to go.

Some light snow came down yesterday and covered the trail; this covered some of the slicker and icier snow on the classic tracks. There were still a couple of icy and leafy spots, so definitely bring a pair of B skis. Downhills had a little bit of powder and very few icy spots. Overall, the trail was very favorable!

Great skiing with little debris in tracks. PistenBully showed up around 11 to set fresh tracks and remedy flooded trail section.

Like everywhere in Duluth, there is a lot of debris on the trail. Other than that it’s in great shape other than a washed out area near the end of the main trail. There were two sets of snowshoe tracks on a portion of the ski trail. The snowshoe tracks were mostly on the outside of the classic tracks, but they did cross over the tracks a couple times. Again, if you see someone using anything other than skis on city ski trails, remind them there are other options nearby.

Tracks were in great shape at Piedmont with little to no debris. The only section that was an issue from the flood/freeeze is just before you complete the "easy" loop after the houses and are about to do another loop or head back to the parking lot. There are no tracks and it is bumpy, but covered with snow.

Apparently rain, gale force winds and freezing drizzle are no match for our City of Duluth Grooming Crew. Skiing was perfect at Piedmont this afternoon. Deep set tracks that were almost completely intact and the previously reported flooded areas are no longer an issue. The groomers have shoveled snow from the sides of the trail, completely covering the flooded areas. I know I speak on behalf of all of the snow lovers here in Duluth, thank you Grooming Crew for always going above and beyond!

Well, great ski actually dispite two iced over flood locations at lowest elevations. Must bushwack around the one. There was also small pieces of wood twigs and a few leaves here and there in the tracks - probably not best to ski your best skis on this one till we get more snow.
