Everything is groomed and set up nicely with only a few soft pole plants. A couple spots have dirt popping up which are easily avoided - I used my good skis and was okay avoiding these. There's dirt near the top of the big hill but the rest of the downhill is fine. The tracks are beautiful - get out and enjoy them in the new year!

Lots of Piedmont reports from me, but the trail conditions are too fun not to share! The trails haven’t been groomed since midday yesterday, but the tracks are well-skied-in. The downhills are mostly snowplowed but fluffy enough that they’re not a problem. Wonderful soft, smooth conditions—highly recommend!

Beautiful fresh, soft snow conditions, and fully groomed. The tracks were not super deep or firm, but the skiing is excellent nonetheless. As the sign asks, what could be better?

[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
I classic skied Piedmont early afternoon today. I did two complete laps. The first lap was good, the second lap was very mushy. Piedmont has just enough snow to get by, but this warm weather may be the end of that. It was 30° on my car when I left the parking lot to ski and 50° when I got back an hour and a half later. There were some small bare spots along the trail, with a few rocks showing and the usual twigs, but it was better than I thought it would be. You can avoid trouble spots quite easily.

Better conditions than I anticipated. Slow skiing...easy to avoid the rocks and debris. No tracks, just rolled flat. Worth getting out to stretch the ski muscles.

[ Rock skis ]
All trails are rolled, with variable depth. Most sections are quite thin. The rocks are avoidable, but there are enough sticking through that I’d still recommend rock skis. It’s great to be on natural snow, even if we could use some more of it!

[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Piedmont was decent with B skis. Did the entire loop. Nothing groomed or rolled. Difficulty getting pole traction sometimes. Overlook is rocky - beware. Overall, borderline needing rock skis.
