Ski trails in great condition having recently been groomed. Tracks were firm but not too fast. Temps were just right for an excellent ski.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ B skis ]
Skied late in the afternoon. Overall trail was in decent shape for B skis. Tracks were firm and deep over most of the North and South loops. Some areas with debris (10% of trail length) Thinner coverage on the south loop after crossing the paved trail especially under the tall pines. Had not been groomed but tracks were holding out fairly well.

[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Did both loops Thursday evening. Tracks were beautiful but had some isolated spots with grass popping through hence the B ski recommendation. Overall great outing with no one else out.

Great ski this afternoon at Schaar's Bluff. Ski trails were in near excellent condition, thank you groomer. Tracks were firm and fast. Woods and fields on both East and West sides were near perfect with only a few leaves in tracks.

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Skied all the classic trails. Tracks were there but shallow and disappeared in a few sections. I was on my good skis but wished I had B skis. There were thin spots with ground poking through and lots of twigs on the trail. Bare spots were avoidable today but I suspect they will deteriorate with warm temp. North side of classic loop was in better condition than south. I saw the groomer on the skate trails as I was driving in. Worth the views!

Afternoon

[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skied classic trails. Beautiful sunshine day, new snow, about 22F, no wind. Perfect day on trails. Used my B skis, but could have used my good skis. Ice layer under new snow. Pine sections less snow base. Some walking damage in one trail section.

Great ski this afternoon. New snow and trails groomed (packed and tracked) this morning. Great job by the groomers, thank you. Encountered 10 skiers and 3 snowshoers (who stayed off ski trails). Skied both the east and west sections, trails in great condition on both sides.

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
Skied the Schaars Bluff traditional ski trails of Spring Lake Park this morning. Found trails to be roller packed but not tracked. In some areas ski trails heavily walked on by hikers and snow shoes, especially around parking area overlooking Spring Lake. Once I got into woods on both East and West sides ski trails improved but still had some footprints. Overall a decent ski.
