Beautiful snowy morning! Groomed the full course including setting a track and groomed the multiuse path. The few inches of fresh snow make wonderful corduroy on top of our solid base.

Trails were awesome, thank you groomers! I classiced one lap and skated two, and the skating was much easier. I picked the wrong wax for my classic lap and didn't get much grip, but my partner on fishscales had a great time, so your mileage may vary. The skate deck has full coverage except at the bottom of the hill coming down from the clubhouse.

Nice fresh grooming at Hiawatha, but it was a sticky, herky jerky go with my fish scales in the sticky snow. I am sure that waxable skis with proper temp kick wax applied would be much better!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Hiawatha is groomed with new classic tracks. The multiuse trail is also groomed. It will be a little bit soft this morning, but it's otherwise really great conditions. The classic track isn't perfect, and there are a few low spots and icy spots that are avoidable. Enjoy!

Had a great ski this morning when I hit the freshly groomed - below freezing - low sun angle window at Hiawatha this morning! Nice work groomers! There was a bald eagle hanging around for awhile - and a red winged blackbird at the pond at the base of the hill.

Hiawatha was packed down with the groomer and leveled out for more snow overnight. The grooming plan is to get out Friday morning to groom again and reset the classic track. Multi use trail was not packed.

Hiawatha was groomed today. The classic track is reset, but it's not the greatest. Skate deck is firm and mostly flat. The multi-use trail is not groomed. Enjoy!

Afternoon

Skied the classic tracks this afternoon. The trails hadn't been groomed yet but others had been out before me and I used their tracks (thanks to whoever made the tracks!). It was sticky and slow and wet as expected, but a great workout and very pretty. I wasn't sure I'd ski when I got there and saw it hadn't been groomed, but I'm glad I did! Lots of fun.

Classical track was very icy. Ski boot was getting caught in the edge of track if I managed to get any speed going. A few people were skating, which looked more manageable. I gave up a third of the way around and cut across and up behind the clubhouse which was actually better than the track.

Got out for a short late lunch ski and found great conditions overall. The skate deck was nice and flat and was easy overall to get an edge. Two icy spots in the NE section of trail (not unexpected) but great shape overall! Nice work groomers!
