38 degrees, just before it started to rain - and conditions were absolutely fantastic for skate skiing. No ice whatsoever, easy to get an edge, no suction from the wet snow, fast and fun. Not sure how it worked out but I give a lot of credit to the groomers at Hiawatha who have kept this course going all season. It was still safe for good skis this morning, before the rain. Good coverage throughout the course for both skate and classic skiing. Such a fun little course.

I wasn't sure what to expect today at Hiawatha - but found the skate deck to be firm and reasonably pliable. Some shaded parts of the course are in great shape - others with a few ruts but very skiable overall!

Good ski conditions in the sun, skied late morning. Nice melted soft snow to ski. Skate skiied the loop. Overall good coverage a little bit of grass/dirt starting to show in small spots.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Hiawatha skate deck and multi use trails are flattened out and freshened up. It's not quite corduroy but you should be able to get an edge. The classic track appear good enough, and I don't think we would be able to reset better tracks.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Hiawatha skate deck is groomed, but the hard surface is not responding very much to the grooming. Coverage on the course is still complete with no grass or dirt showing through. Might be best to ski Hiawatha after it warms up a bit.

Hit a good window at Hiawatha on a short lunch ski. Skis grabbed a few ruts from yesterday on the first lap but by the end of my outing parts of the course felt like skiing on ball bearings!

Most of the tracks were well made but were destroyed where the trail was slanted and on one of the hills. There was no debris in the tracks. Everything was well groomed, but the snow was definitely hard packed outside the tracks.

Night
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Groomed the ski trails on Saturday night at about 8pm. Base is very firm and should ski very well tomorrow throughout the day. Due to the cold very hard base, there are areas where the classic track is not full depth. Have a great day!

Grooming Scheduling
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Hiawatha is freshened up! The multi use trail is groomed for our skijoring, hiking and biking friends. The skate deck is much softer now with the warmer temp and grooming. The classic track looked fine so it was not reset. MYSL has sessions at 10 and 2 on Saturdays and 10, noon and 2 on Sundays with about 90 skiers in each session.

Hiawatha is in great shape - with a reset classic track! Skate deck looked good, too. Noted a bald eagle hanging out at the end of my ski - which was a bonus!
