Excellent diagonal stride skiing and classic skiing can be found at the North End Trail System just outside of Cable. All the trails had just been recently groomed. With the cold temps, there was great kick and good glide. The Cable area has received plenty of snow, and the tracks are deep and firm and offer very good control. Warming house is open with plenty of firewood to keep you toasty!

The NE now has 24 k of trails groomed. The 12 k NE Classic was tracked Saturday and the 12 k main loops were groomed for skate and classic on Sunday. The trails are getting firm and are in good condition.

The NE Classic trail was tracked today and came out pretty good but it will be a little soft. The main trail, A,B,C loops, were rolled again and tracks were set on the A loop only using the small tracker. We hope to groom the main loops for skating and track the B,C tomorrow. Of course, it is snowing again.

Groomers did laps with snowmobiles on the NE Classic trail today in hopes of it being ready to groom tomorrow. The main trail has been rolled but not groomed and has some new snow on top of the rolled trail. The Tony Wise is under several inches of untouched snow. The main trail has had a few people classic ski and marginal tracks are skied in. Backcountry skis should work well on all the trails. The NE groomers plan on being out again tomorrow.

We received approximately another 8" of unneeded snow last night and today. All of the main trail, A-B-C loops, were packed again today but are not groomed. The Tony Wise and NE Classic have not been packed yet. We hope it will stop snowing for a few days so we can start to catch up.

We received another 8+ inches of snow ending yesterday afternoon setting us back again. Groomers have packed and rolled the NE main trail, (A,B,C loops) and the NE Classic trail. Final grooming will commence asap.

Packed and rolled the rest of the NE main loop. Only the A loop has been groomed but the skate lane is uneven and was further damaged by going over it with the rollers to access the rest of the trail. The classic track on the A loop looks to be in pretty good condition. We will continue to try and get more trails open as time and manpower permit.

The 6k's we have been working on (A loop) were gone over again today and are firmer, wider, and in good condition. We will be expanding the k's groomed as we are able.

The 6k that was rolled yesterday was combed and tracked today. It is a bit uneven and soft. The section groomed gives access to the Birkie Classic which they groomed. We hope to get crew out every day until we get the whole system up and running.

Approximately 6k of the NE trail rolled today. Groomers plan to be working on the trail tomorrow, setting track and combing the skate lane. Conditions are soft and uneven at this time. The parking lot is plowed out.
