Another great day at North End! Still a bit of debris, but nothing too crazy. Classic tracks were predictably a little shallow nearer to the trailhead from so much use, but that's a good thing! We skied the 12K C loop and conditions past about 3 or 4K were amazing.

The north end trail is fully groomed. The skate deck is soft in spots but the classic tracks are in great shape. There is a lot of blown down in some areas, pine needles, sticks etc. hop skiing is sometimes necessary. In any case it was great skiing. The North End Classic single track had not been set.

Recently groomed, the trails are in excellent condition. Due to the heavy snow and lots of brush down due to high winds, some segments have yet to be groomed. Nonetheless above zero temps and sunny sky were very welcome for skiing today.

Another glorious day North End! Skied the B and A loops today, both are in really good condition. There are still some rare washouts in the classic track, but it's still in exceptional shape. Skate deck has firmed up a lot from yesterday. A bunch more people today - that's a good thing! Still only ran across a dozen on the actual trails. Careful, the trees are throwing snowballs, they got me good at the top of the hill by Penny Lane :).

Today I classic skied at the North End Trails in Cable. The Cable area just received around a foot and a half of new snow. There was very good coverage on the trails with an occasional branch and some debris. The trail, along with pole plants, were soft in spots but should firm up with cold temps. I mainly skied the North End Classic Trail and the groomer had just set a new track that offered good control and kick.

Wow! What a day at North End! Tracks were set for just about the entire way on the A, B, and C loops - it was magical. There are a few softer spots on the outside of the trail as well as some softer plow-ruts in the middle, but very few. Just an amazing job by the grooming staff at North End, thank you so much! After the snow we've had, pretty much everyone in town has been without power for a couple days - it was such a highlight to ski these trails today.

We skied from North End mostly to catch the Birkie trail but took a couple detours on the North End skate trail here and there. The skate deck had been recently groomed to corduroy, the classic trail was still just rolled with a fresh 0.5" of dry snow on top. It was pretty good and firm, though soft and you would sink in on the far sides of the trail. No tracks were set. Definitely still some early season bumpy conditions and the occasional stick/rock though coverage was surprising decent. If you were really careful you could use your good skis.

[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
All loops had been rolled. We were skiing classic using the big grooves for tracks. Snow was very soft and slow. We skied our rock skis but we never hit any debris. The Birkie trail, classic and skate, had not been groomed as of the time of our ski.
