Trail Reports

2020-2021 season
Reports 11 to 17 of 17    Month: Feb | Jan | Dec
Thursday, December 31, 2020
Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
The trail was groomed yesterday (classic only) and is still holding up. Be aware that the trail is multi-use. Therefore, the dedicated classic track has, next to it, a lane for runners, walkers, and snowshoers.

Night
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Groomed for classic, no pass required. Trails are smooth and all rocks are fully covered but trail may be washed out where Duluth traverse crosses the path. The softball field is groomed with 6 straight lanes for practicing technique. The snow was soft tonight but should be firm soon.

Evening
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Not groomed since the significant snow fall that occurred last night (as of 4:30 PM anyway). Too much snow had fallen to be able to ski in the old groomed trail. Much foot and snowshoe traffic during the day, which packed down the trail some.

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Great grooming. A little more snow is needed as some ground is visible in a couple spots, but I never felt my skis were at risk. Hardly anywhere had been walked in so the tracks were sharp.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The classic tracks are in good shape except on a few sharp turns. The skate deck is in poor condition with footprints throughout the trail system.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Fantastic! Trails are groomed and in top shape. Tracks are firm, made for a great Christmas ski today. Occasional debris in the tracks that but nothing major to speak of.

Night
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Groomed up very nice tonight! A couple of sections of thin snow where the wind blew snow away (mostly around Rock Pond). Tracks are great. Should be perfect for a holiday ski. Classic skiing only. No ski pass required.
