Shout out to the Puncushion groomers, thanks to you we had a very pleasant ski today! Your grooming made it safe to ski on the advanced trails. You definitely made the most of what is left. We were mostly on the intermediate trails and on the advanced loop trail. Your report yesterday is very accurate about the conditions.

Grooming

Base 12 to 18 inches. All of our trails were groomed for classic and skate skiing on Thursday evening. Colder temperatures following several days of warm and sunny weather produced a very hard base that was a challenge to groom. End results vary from location to location.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Base 18 inches. The skate lanes on East and West Overlook, the Snowman loops, Canyon Curves and Pincushion Mountain trail were groomed Tuesday evening. Classic tracks throughout the system remain well defined from the last groom, but are glazed and fast in most places. They will be reset for the weekend. We recently went through a few days of freeze/thaw cycles that hardened the base considerably and created some icy spots.

Base 20+ inches. 4 to 5 inches of new snow over the last few days. Most of our trails were groomed for classic and skate skiing on Tuesday evening. The rest of the system will be finished tonight. Our trails are in great midwinter shape.

Classic skied the trails this afternoon. Tracks were good but the deck was quite chewed up from yesterday's events. Sunny, 15 degrees and a mild wind. Kick and glide was very good. Plenty of snow!

Pincushion was in terrific shape this morning with fresh grooming for both skate and classic. It was one of our best skis of the season with plenty of snow up here in the arrowhead. There were lots of thrills on the North Advanced and the Ole loop
with all of the exciting downhills! If you want some great skiing, come up to the Shore!

It’s always a great ski experience getting back to Pincushion! Plenty of snow in good condition. The skate lane had been freshly groomed, while the classic tracks had fresh snow in them, but very skiable. Pincushion is definitely one of our favorite places to ski in MN!

Skied the trails from the Britton side this morning. Trails looked like they were freshly groomed. Very nice conditions for both classic and skating. Today was windy and in places there was snow blowing into the tracks. A bit of tree litter at start but that is the exception -- trails were mostly clean and free of debris.
