Snow pack is very thin and quite rough from repeated use by skiers and walkers alike. Snow condition is hard/frozen. Some grass poking through in open areas. Grooming has paused until there's more snow.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Partial, Rock skis ]
Snow is really sticky and there has been a lot of traffic on the trails closer in. The snow pack is thicker in the woods but only a couple inches in open areas with some bare/semi bare spots with grass poking through. There is not enough snow to run a groomer back through so trail conditions will not improve until more snow has fallen.

Morning
Observation
[ Trails Open: Partial, Rock skis ]
With the warmer temperatures the snow pack has started to melt significantly. That paired with dropping temperatures today we are due for some slushy then icy trail conditions. No more grooming has been done and snow is not deep enough to lay classic track. The wooded trails are more protected so have less melted snow and more of the trails in tact. There are bare areas along with some grass poking up in the open field areas.

Sunday, December 25, 2022
Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Went out around noon today. Solid base for skate skiing, a few drifts in the prairie. All together a great Christmas Day ski after a long cold stretch. Watch your skis in the woods, quite a few branches and pine needles.

Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Trails that have been packed but not groomed: Red, Yellow, White, Blue, and Black. In the open prairie areas there are a lot of drifts, bear patches from wind blow, and leaves and twigs on the trails in places from the extreme wind conditions.
