The out and back at Vadnais is groomed with classic tracks made by previous skiers. Great almost 7km trail for beginners and solitude seekers. Poles hit asphalt occasionally, but trail was completely covered with only a couple of footprints/twigs.

I was fortunate to arrive just as the groomer had finished rolling the trail. It doesn’t look like enough snow to set tracks. Coverage was good overall on the Sucker Lake side, with a few thin spots near highway 96. The trail was soft. Stay to the side to avoid some ruts in the middle of the hill section. It is always great to ski with the swans!

Today, I skied Vadnais Heights regional park around 12:30 pm. There was lots of leaves, twigs on the trails. It was rough going due to the 1/8 inch ice over the snow and I could not tell if the trails were groomed or people had made tracks. It would be best to wait for more snow.

No grooming on any of the trails as of 2pm Sunday. Ski tracks were in pretty good shape with most of the walkers staying off the tracks. Good coverage for the vast majority with only a few bare spots (near the foot bridge south of Sucker Lake).
