Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
I went for a predawn ski this morning and found the trails to be in very good to excellent shape. The skate deck was regroomed last night with the Tidd Tech and it is in fantastic shape. The classic tracks placed December 2nd are still in good shape. There are new classic tracks in the South fields. The rare ruts crossing the trail left by the loggers have been smooth out quite a bit with the regrooming. Good skis can be used. This should be a perfect weekend to get out and ski.

Secondhand
[ Trails Open: All ]
The damage from the severe storm in July has been cleaned up and the trails are in great shape. The skate deck was nice and solid on Thursday night, but getting a little "groovy", so Gary ran the Tidd Tech around tonight to get everything ready for a great weekend of skiing. One note related to the storm cleanup: The logger is still loading wood out from the east side of the right of way, so please park on the west side or down at the High School Parking lot.

Evening
Firsthand: Both
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
The trails were rolled repeatedly this past week leading up to a final grooming with the Tidd Tech last night. Tracks are set on most of the trails except for Damroth and Jerome fields. The skate deck and tracks are in very good shape and made for excellent skiing. These are the best early season conditions I can remember on these trails. There are a few areas, especially on the right of way, where the logging equipment drove over the groomed ski trails, leaving ruts. But they can be carefully skied around. For that reason I would recommend B skis. If not for those few sections, good skis could actually be used.
