Received 1-2 inches of snow last night. Today the tracks were reset, and should firm up nicely as we settle in for some colder temperatures.

Skied the east loop. Tracks were deep, firm and fast. Grooming at Nose Lake is always great and tonight was no exception.

Nose Lake was tracked on Monday, and is very skiable.  I skied both loops today, and I had a great ski.  The tracks are a little icy, but not bad.  I had no difficulty in maintaining control.  Besides any downhill slope was fast, but not dangerously so.

First time at this trail for Joanie and I. We arrived early Saturday morning to freshly groomed classic tracks and did the East and West Loops both twice (about 16 miles). Perfect single-track for the two loops and a nice double-track trail connecting them. Glad to beat the warm-up and the arrival of many dogs with their owners as they are allowed on this trail. Thanks so much for grooming this trail overnight.

Grooming

Nose Lake had its tracks tore up tonight and reset, as well.   Unfortunately, the groomer, snow and myself could not get on the same page.   The end result was a track that I was not pleased with.   The track will firm up tonight, but there are some crumbly components.   It is definitely skiable, but it could be better.  ...... next time.

In the evening on Saturday, Nose Lake was rolled and retracked. The 6+ inches of snow we received should provide for some good classic skiing as these tracks set up.

Perfect track on a frigid morning. About 1/4” fresh snow covered any leaves, and also made bobcat, coyote and fox tracks easier to identify.

When I skied at 4pm the track was well skied in, and overall in nice shape. As I was leaving one of the groomers showed up to set track, so conditions should be back to perfect tomorrow.

The trail had 1.5+ inches new snow. Had to break trail. The track edges were a bit soft. But, I had a good ski - the trails all to myself. No scattered oak leaves to battle today.
