It just keeps snowing here! Trails were packed yesterday and we groomed the skate lanes and set track this morning. Shortcut trails were not done but the rest of the trails are in good condition. We will finish after the temps are back below freezing.

Lots of new snow! All trails were packed, groomed and tracked. Conditions are excellent and we should have great skiing for MLK day.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Both the track and skate lanes were in very good condition. There was a fresh dusting of new snow covering the trail. The trails are very well marked with "here you are" maps through out. This is a very scenic area to ski at. A big hawk flew out right in front of me on of the trails and scared the heck out of me! There is a very nice trailhead chalet with a fireplace and wood stove to enjoy before and after skiing.

The rain missed us! We had about an inch of new snow and the skating was wonderful. Just enough snow to cover up some of the oak leaves but still a little icy in the pine plantation. There are still good classic tracks, but in the open areas they were drifted shut.

Superb morning. Firm skate deck and measurably better than last weekend. Oak debris ubiquitous but avoidable. A few crustier areas under pines and I did walk my A skis over the service road and through big pines. Tommy has the snow! Overall for this season in NE WI is an ”A”! Thank you groomers and staff!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We had a couple of inches of new snow and I touched up the skate lanes Monday night. Someone had already skied the new snow into the track and I left it alone. We have a hard smooth base for skating with a little snow top of new snow. Skiing is good to excellent. Only down side is the oak leaves on the trail.

We had a great time on New Year's Day with well-groomed trails for both skate and classic and beautiful snow on the tree branches. The shelter was open but a bit chilly inside.

I skied the trails just after sunrise and they were better then I expected. Skate lanes were just slightly icy in the sunny areas and firm and fast in the woods. I did have spots where my poles punched through the skate deck. Classic tracks although a little melted were still quite good. Overall, trails are still in fair to very good condition with debris down in the pine plantations.
