I skied the trails just after sunrise and they were better then I expected. Skate lanes were just slightly icy in the sunny areas and firm and fast in the woods. I did have spots where my poles punched through the skate deck. Classic tracks although a little melted were still quite good. Overall, trails are still in fair to very good condition with debris down in the pine plantations.

Observation
[ Trails Open: All ]
It was a very warm night with some rain and the trails were smushy. After a freeze, trail conditions should improve. We will see if grooming is possible after a freeze up.

Most of the trails were re-groomed and tracked this morning. Conditions are still very good to excellent and we have lost very little snow in the warm weather. There are some oak leaves on the trails.

We should have excellent weekend skiing! I cleaned up the skate lanes and reset some of the track that had been wiped out. Conditions are excellent to good. There are some oak leaves down on the trail.

First time at Governor Thompson State Park. Very nice. Plenty of snow. Very little leaf litter. Well groomed. Tracks looked perfect -- I skated, the deck was firm and flat. One small part where some vehicle decided to turn around at a road crossing. Rolling terrain, beautiful scenery, near-perfect temperatures made for a very nice early season workout. The only problem was that there was nobody else there. Your loss, my gain.

Plenty of snow here. All trails are groomed and tracked. Skate lane had a few soft spots and a little uneven in a few spots. Conditions were fair to excellent. I hopped in the tracks a few times and they were in excellent condition. An enjoyable ski.
