I groomed and reset tracks on the east 3 loops in the evening. Ginzu did a great job covering the down tree debris and I would say that the 99% of the trash is gone now. While the Ginzu did excellent job on the track and ski wash outs, not even 2 passes could fix the foot and snow shoe deep holes completely. I didn’t get to the west side so if you wish to ski that you will want B skis as there will be lots of debris in the tracks.

I skied the whole older loop this morning. Lots of skiers have been skiing but tracks are holding up excellently. There are only a couple of short hills spots where the tracks have been washed out from herringbone steps or snow plowing. A few places the pole deck is still soft so I would recommend large baskets. It is still very gorgeous out there and tracks are very clean. Kick wax looked like I just applied it after finished skiing.

It really is a winter wonderland at the mighty Goose trail. The grooming was perfect as was the snow. Met a few nice folks on the trail but it was not crowded. The snow on the trees made it look magical. I skied with my wife Michelle and good friends Joe and Leanne. Big thanks to the Lake Country Nordic Ski Club! Thank You for all you do.

Finished grooming Goose Lake Trail today. The west side of the trail was compacted, groomed and tracks set. The whole outer loop (15 km) now is groomed with new tracks. The first two cut thru’s were groomed and tracked yesterday. The west end cut thrus are compacted but not groomed yet.

Winter wonderland out there. Jon and Terry (I’m guessing from previous posts) had just finished grooming and tracking. First ones on trail. Slow but perfect. Track Goes to no. 9 marker and circles back. West side wasn’t tracked yet.

The first 3 loops from the parking lot were packed and groomed this morning. About 8 km of track set. Track depth is over 6” so good skis are good to go. There were so many branches down that a few smaller pieces might have gotten groomed in but should easily be avoided if they were not totally covered. It’s a winter wonderland out there.

Jon and I groomed the west side of Goose Lake Trail today. The whole trail system is open now with 16km of classics tracks set. Snow coverage is very good so no problem with using good skis. Great early snow conditions so get out and enjoy the skiing up Lake Country.

Jon groomed the east side of Trail today, several compaction runs and then setting tracks. The 8 Km of trails on the East side (next to the parking lot) are ready for skiing.
