From DNR: The trail was last groomed on Dec 31st. The furthest south loop (Loop 3 E), as well as the east/west cut-across in Loop 3, is closed due to logging traffic. Loop 3 W is still open but use caution and watching for equipment crossing the trail.
Confirmed with forester that all loops are open. Boomer Blue trail ends after 1.6 miles. South 1,8 miles is plowed for logging. Use caution crossing plowed logging road. New snow on trail should allow for decent skiing if new grooming not done for the weekend.

Track reported by a skier to be very icy and dangerous. She fell and broke femur, had to be airlifted to Duluth.

Skied Loops 2 and 3. Conditions mostly good; two small bare spots on Loop 3. Use caution on the steeper downhills--track setting a bit erratic, quite a few jogs for no apparent reason. Doesn't look like these trails were cleared prior to snow. Groomer had to cut and clear numerous deadfalls.

Trail did not appear to be packed before setting a track, so the track is set extremely narrow and skis sink in too far. Foot catches on sides of set track. Very dangerous skiing! I thought my skis were icing up but it was the same extra blue that has been working great on Suomi. After three falls, I could not wait to get off trail and went to ski Alder Pond with no problems.
DNR is posting trail closed. Boomer Blue out is ok. In run track is bad but skiers can ski in the middle. DNR will try to regroom next Tuesday.

DNR Guy Lunz said groomer will try to get this trail next week after done with snowmobile trails. Has not been packed or tracked yet.
