Remarkably good for striding. The "clumping problem" that existed yesterday from snowballing dry snow onto wet kick area has resolved with the cold night. Best in the fairways as the longer grass of the rough is more grabby. I tried to skate about 400 yards but just as you get confident, one ski will hit a thin cover area and stall. Shiny skate skis might not be as prone to this as my waxless classic skis, so if you have a light touch, maybe you can skate today.

Still good if you don't have time to travel far. We did classic but it seems you can skate or classic nearly anywhere on the golf course as there is a firm base under about 1/2" of snow on top. Some of the older tracks made by skiers are now giving some ankle roll so make your own or go in the newer tracks.

Actually not bad since its "the only game in town". The wet snow at Reid hardened overnight into a soft crust and there is about 1/2" of fresh snow on top. Best bet is to follow the skier-made tracks around the perimeter and up and down the fairways. I mainly did classic but also skated a bit on my classic gear and would say that skating, likewise, is best done up and down the fairways. They did pack down/groom the official circuit last week, but the warm-up led to some bare spots and ponding (now ice) that you can't see with the dusting of fresh snow, and the skating didn't seem much faster on the circuit anyway. You can probably use B skis if you know where the cart paths next to the tee boxes are, as some are fine and others with little coverage.
