Beautiful day out on the trails. My poles were breaking through 95% of the time on the single track trails, the double track seemed to be packed a little better for poles. Track was clean 99% of the time and is in much better shape than trails with pines in the area with the recent wind storms.

Another dreamy day in the northland woods. Biskey trails are groomed incredibly well without debris. The tracks were deep with a few soft pole plants. VR60 made for stellar kick.

We skied Biskey today. Huge thank you to the groomers and volunteers who got rid of all the trees that fell! The tracks are about 1 to 2 inches deep throughout. Watch out on the first downhill after the parking lot, there are some footprints, some ski tracks that run off into the deep snow like a runaway truck run would, and some body imprints. The rest of Wolf Run is ok, but the pole plants are a bit soft if you get out from the middle at all. Eagle ridge is a whole different story. The pole plants are very soft unless you stick right next to the skis and even then some are soft. The uphills are very tricky. Someone walked up one hill leaving very large, very deep footprints. The trail seemed narrower than usual so herringboning was really tough especially with the 1-2 foot deep pole plants. I'm a very experienced skier, have skied this a ton, yet I ski on shorter skis and I had a tough time getting up quite a few of the hills. Beware on the downhill at Eagle Ridge... it is "wobbly", there are giant body prints in a few spots, and foot prints. Once you get into the woods part after the big hill, it is very pine tree debris filled - which was to be expected after the wind. Black Spruce was good where the pines were absent, the rest was lots of debris. The one spot with the slush is a new one, haven't seen that in the past, there is a "bypass", however, there is a piece of small tree sticking up so watch your speed. It is beautiful out there with all the snow on the trees! Remember to leave some money in the box when you go, they are volunteers and work really hard on this amazing trail!

Great news — Biskey is groomed and the trees still are caked with beautiful snow! I started on ungroomed but well-skied-in trail sections. Tough time on the uphills due to soft pole plants. Encountered the groomers (thank you!) near the bottom of Eagle Ridge. Easy-breezy from there on out on pristine tracks. Be aware there's a small, wet area you'll want to avoid on the Black Spruce section just as you dip down toward the spruces.

Trails are now mostly groomed, but no track yet. Could use skinny skis if you don't have backcountry skis!
