[ Trails Open: Most, Rock skis ]
Skied late morning on the sections south of Glenwood. Thin coverage, definitely bumpy but mostly covered (watch for curbs) and still a very enjoyable ski through the terrain of south Wirth. If you haven't skied here in the last year or so, make sure you look over the trail maps as much of the trail system has changed direction, and some trails are shared use with walkers. There is a water running over the return to Wirth Lake but since we had our rock skis, we just did a little "water skiing" to cross. Look forward to skiing the trails again with more snow cover!

Had a lovely ski in the woods. Decent coverage and a nice layer of soft snow on top made the skiing slow but the turns and downhills easy. Unfortunately, ran into walkers who felt they had a right to be walking down the middle of the trails -- very disappointing.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, Rock skis ]
Natural snow trails were rolled this morning. Coverage is generally OK but it is thin in places, especially over pavement. We will check tonight to see if we can groom further.

The BOG! Was. So. Sweet. This is one of my favorite sections of trail in Minnesota. Coverage was especially good in The Bog and skating was smooth and rhythmic. And the sun was peeking through snow covered oaks... A real special early season treat. We skated all of the Bog and Eloise Butler trails which have been rolled and did not hit anything. Eloise Butler was good too, but more caution is needed because significant portions of the ski trail are on top of paved roads and trails. The wetland just southwest of Wirth Lake beach house parking lot is flowing over the trail, so you have to hop skip and jump through a couple inches of flowing water to pass through that section. If you want a perfect Thanksgiving 'over the river and through the woods ski,' find your way over to the The Bog and treat yourself to a few laps while the temps stay cold!

Wow! We went out early in Eloise Butler this morning and were pleasantly surprise to find all of the trails in that part of Wirth South had already been rolled. I am so thankful for all of Loppet's amazing work to grow our trail system and ski community. And special thanks to whoever those early bird groomers were! Trails looked great for skating or classic (no tracks). We are heading back out on rock skate skis. Use B skis with caution, rock skis with abandon.
