Beautiful day. Not so cold once you are moving. Conditions were awesome, so I'm only posting to say that despite this, you might want to use B skis. There were a couple spots where it was thin, especially on a few concave features. Most notable was coming off/on Wirth lake at the far shore. That said, it was wonderful. Where was everyone?

On the whole, great conditions out there. What a difference the inch or two of snow we got made compared to Sunday when I last skied here. Skied Wirth Lake, Antawin trail and part of the bog. Really nice grooming but thin in just a few places. I thought good skis were fine if you're on the lookout. Just beautiful today!

Skied down from the manmade. Tornado alley and everything in Butler had been freshly groomed. The other loops (JD Rivers, Wirth Lake, most of Skyline) still had a bit of powder but had definitely been getting some action. Good skis are ok if you're vigilant looking for problem spots, because they're there. B skis probably safer. Still amazing to get out on these trails, has me doing even more snow dances than before! Thanks groomers!

Got out to ski some hills and get ready for the loppet. Get out on the natural trails while you can with our wonderful new snow! (We can ski on the manmade later! Many K's of beautiful Minnesota woods and lakes ready for your next ski!) There was good coverage everywhere and plenty of grooming all over. There was a bit of debris (but you know, that happens in the woods), nothing terrible. Big icy spot at an intersection by the Bog (I think).
I say good skis, but if you have B skis, maybe use those. My good skis are my B skis, and if I need rock skis, I classic.

I skied the trails around Wirth Lake and Bog. Overall, I'd say they were good. A few places throughout with debris on the trail but pretty good coverage. Classic track in most areas (that I noticed). Beautiful with the snow on the trees. I used my good skis, but if you're really careful, use your B skis.

Parked at quaking bog and skied Norm Oakvik, Erickson loop, Wedding Hill, and Anwatin Loop. Lots of debris, leaves and bark and such on the trails, so that I wish I was using B skis, but the snow conditions were actually pretty good underneath that. Maybe a half dozen churned up or icy places.

Tried to start at Cedar Lake, but the skate deck was ice and last night's snow just blew off. Wirth Lake, Tornado Alley, and Bridge Trail were better, but still 50% icy. Man made loop was good, though a tad slow with cold temps and new snow.

I enjoyed excellent conditions on all Wirth trails south of the Trailhead. When I finished at about 1pm the deck was holding up well to the sun and warm temps. Coverage and grooming are good throughout, although there are some easily avoided bare spots on the Anwatin, Bog, and Skyline trails. Everything except Anwatin was tracked. I hope the warm weather doesn’t cause too much damage!
